This! I so agree with all this. As an architect myself for the past 24+ years, so much of what passes as modern architecture is terrible. There is a line between copying architecture of old - even the best, most beautiful architecture worthy of copying - can and should be adapted to our era, but most of what has been designed over the past 60 years is more a reflection of modern man’s pride and is a rejection of past ideals of beauty in architecture and design. I hope and pray for a revival…there are glimmers out there, they just don’t get much press.
Being 'aged', I don't do a lot of shopping for clothing, but I look at a particular 'big box store' clothing and can't believe people buy that 'unisex colorless' stuff other than maybe working in the garden or someplace else where they won't be seen. (and even then I wouldn't). Remaining 'neutralized' is as easy as sweat pants and shirts.

That's so intriguing to hear this from an architect's perspective! Thank you for sharing!
Same thing going on with clothing.. So sad!
That's a great point ... I'm going to have to think about this angle a bit more... feel like there's an article in there somewhere!
