When asked for some of my favorite books over the years, one of the titles I regularly recommend is Mother, written by Kathleen Norris in 1911. Although somewhat obscure and rather old, I love suggesting this book because its subtle message is extremely prescient for our time, and one that I believe gets to the heart of the problem in our confused and chaotic society.
